JOBS agency Diamond Recruitment Group has been acquired by Staffline Group Ireland.

Staffline said the move would accelerate the growth of its existing business which opened in Belfast in 2013 and later expanded to Dublin.

The acquisition will see it take Diamond's portfolio of large blue-chip companies under its wing.

Diamond works across a range of sectors and provides 2,500 workers a day from a database of more than 59,000 candidates.

The enlarged Staffline Group Ireland will operate from 10 sites with more than 3,000 contractors servicing a network of hundreds of clients and it is now the among the three largest recruitment businesses in Ireland.

Staffline managing director Tina McKenzie said: "We’re happy to welcome the Diamond team to Staffline Group Ireland.

"This acquisition fits our strategy of selective bolt-on acquisitions and enhances our reach and customer base considerably across Northern Ireland.

"Combining Staffline Recruitment, PeoplePlus NI and Diamond, we will ensure that local employers have a wider range of services available to them while jobseekers, learners and staff have a greater choice of career opportunities.”

Carson McDowell acted on behalf of Diamond Recruitment on the deal.

Its managing partner Michael Johnston said the transaction "demonstrates yet again that high quality Northern Ireland companies are very much on the radar of international businesses that are looking to expand.

"Diamond Recruitment has been at the forefront of the local recruitment sector for many years and I’m sure it will remain a key player in the market as part of Staffline."
