COMMIERCIAL property firm CBRE has moved to new premises after a rapid expansion of the business.

Headcount at the company has increased 60 per cent this year as the number of deals it is involved in has risen significantly.

Having previously been located in Imperial House, Donegall Square East, the company has outgrown its former office and has moved into more spacious premises, taking the entire seventh floor of The Linenhall building.

It means the company now occupies 5,500 sq ft of office space with views of Belfast hills and City Hall from an outside terrace.

The open plan offices feature a series of meeting rooms and boardrooms as well as private booths and work pods to host small meetings or carry out uninterrupted work.

The overall CBRE Group, headquartered in Los Angeles, is the world’s largest commercial real estate services and investment firm employing more than 70,000 employees at more than 400 offices worldwide.

The firm's managing director in the north Brian Lavery said: “Our level of employee growth in 2015 has exceeded expectations and is a testament to the success of the firm and the calibre of the team. The commercial property market has picked up considerably over the last 18 months and is set to continue along its growth trajectory. With this will come an increased demand for the type of global expertise across asset management, construction consultancy, valuations, investment, acquisition and disposal strategy, which CBRE provides.

“The new office will see more space for our current employees and allow the company to continue to grow over the coming years as we are hopeful the market will continue to improve. CBRE is globally renowned for its market-leading research and we have found an increasing interest locally and from Inward Investment funds for our annual Outlook, half-yearly reports and bi-monthly research.

“The new office interior space has been designed and project managed by CBRE’s own building consultancy team to create a space that will support the most modern and futuristic working practices. Going forward I am confident that CBRE will continue to deliver world-class consultancy in this sector in Northern Ireland.”
