INSURANCE company MCL has created 20 new 'customer experience' jobs at its Coleraine headquarters due to "phenomenal growth" over the past 12 months.

Managing director Gary McClarty said the jobs boost had been made possible due to continuing popularity of flagship brands 25+, Its4Women and BoxyMo.

It follows the launch in April of the company's online chat module, designed and built by sister company Dotsys Ltd, in a move towards providing an exclusively online business model for customers.

Since announcing 17 new jobs last December, MCL Insurance Services has experienced a 100 per cent increase in sales and now hosts an excess of 80,000 policy holders across Northern Ireland and the Republic.

"The innovative application of our Dotsys software to handle online chat and call requests has been key to our recent success," Mr MClarty said.

"We have successfully developed a system which is not only user-friendly, but makes the process of purchasing competitive car insurance much easier for our customers.

"The new positions will help expand and improve the customer service offering, with growth across the online chat and outbound call handling teams."

The additional jobs will bring employee numbers up to 92 - and more positions are potentially in the pipeline.

"Over the next 12 months I hope to continue creating more jobs for local people in our new grade A offices in Coleraine," Mr McClarty added, "as the company goes from strength to strength."
