CRAIGAVON-based technology firm FUEL has become the new 'channel partner' of multinational software corporation SAP, which operates in 130 countries across the globe.

It is the first time the German-headquartered operation has entered the Northern Ireland IT market and the move has been described as a "significant achievement" for the local firm.

Paul Trouton, director and chief executive of FUEL, said the new partnership would support the firm's strategy of gaining market share while providing creative solutions to help companies maximise efficiency and drive profitable growth.

"At FUEL, our ambition to develop and grow our business in a targeted, progressive and strategic way has been rewarded by securing the position of chosen partner for SAP in Northern Ireland," he said.

"This is a significant achievement for our business and we are looking forward to the competitive advantage that the SAP brand and its Business One solution will provide to our business.

"I'm confident SAP Business One and its additional offerings will play a major role in the success and future growth of both FUEL and the customers we support across agri-food, manufacturing and engineering and healthcare sectors."

The 24th most valuable brand in the world and a global leader in enterprise software, SAP is a global leader in enterprise software, with almost 80 per cent of its customers using 'SAP Business One' solutions which streamlines key processes, from accounting and CRM to supply chain management and purchasing.

SAP's head of Business One in Northern Ireland, Will Newton, said the Craigavon company shared the same "philosophy and passion" in helping small-to medium-sized companies fulfil their business potential.

"FUEL IT is an innovative business focused on understanding the needs of companies in Northern Ireland, especially small and mid-size enterprises, and to demonstrate its continued commitment to SMEs here, SAP has added the technology company as a channel partner," Mr Newton said.

"We believe that FUEL IT shares our philosophy and passion to provide innovative solutions to help SMEs unlock their potential and deliver sustainable growth."
