THE new season's crop of baby new potatoes have been hitting shelves across the north.

They included potatoes from the Shuttleworth family in Balbriggan, Co Dublin which supplies Marks & Spencer through Glens of Antrim Potatoes.

The potatoes are best eaten steamed or boiled and their size makes them perfect for summer salads.

Michael McKillop of Glens of Antrim Potatoes said: “We are delighted to be delivering the first crop of our celebrated Irish Baby New Potatoes to M&S. Known for their great flavour and texture, they are a summer favourite. We know M&S shoppers value top quality local produce and for many, the arrival of the first crop is a sign that summer has finally arrived.”

Kenneth Daly of M&S added: “Glens of Antrim Potatoes has been supplying us with their local potatoes since 2011, and they are a favourite with our shoppers. Potatoes are delicious all year round, but the baby potatoes are perfect for summer menus and they are a great addition to M&S shelves.”
