Poundland store work completed

EUROPE'S biggest single price discount retailer Poundland has completed work on its expanded Ann Street store in Belfast, creating eight jobs.

It has taken over an empty neighbouring unit and doubled in size to increase floor space to 20,000 sq ft, making it the largest Poundland store in Northern Ireland. Commercial property agents Lambert Smith Hampton acted on behalf of the landlord on the transaction. Since opening 25 years ago, Poundland now has 580 stores UK-wide, including 29 in Northern Ireland (eight of which are in Belfast).

Ryan Kee from Lambert Smith Hampton said: "By doubling the size of its store and entering a long term lease, it has demonstrated confidence in Ann Street as a retail destination, which will have a positive knock-on impact on the street."
