Call centre company's profit boost

CALL centre company Firstsource Solutions, which employs more than 2,000 people at three sites in Belfast and Derry, grew its profits by more than a third in the quarter year to September, it said yesterday

The Indian-owned global business outsourcing firm -one of Northern Ireland's largest private sector employers - said it profit after tax growth came in at $10 million (£6.4m), which is an increase of 36.8 per cent on the corresponding quarter in 2013.

Chairman Sanjiv Goenka said: "I'm delighted with the progress Firstsource has made in achieving such improved net profit growth year on year. This fiscal year the company has signed significant new business wins, which we know will translate into revenues."

Firstsource offers a range of customer-facing services for leading brands in the telecoms, media, banking & finance and healthcare industries. Services include customer acquisition, customer care, technical support and transaction processing.
