Wilsons clinch police deal

FAMILY-OWNED business Wilsons Auctions has been awarded a contract with Police Scotland, the second largest force in the UK after the Metropolitan Police, for asset realisation contract.

It means Wilsons - formed in 1936 by William J Wilson and now directed by his son Ian - is now the preferred supplier to law enforcement agencies for the disposal of assets and currently work in partnership with more than 20 police forces throughout the UK who represent a collective population of 25 million people. Peter Johnston, group operations director of Wilsons Auctions, which employs more than 400 people, said the contract "confirms and extends our position as a leading provider of asset realisation services" to law enforcement agencies in the UK and Ireland.
