£3 million deal for cylinder firm

A CO  Antrim firm has signed a £3 million deal to make a solar powered heating system for a Dublin-based company.

Copper Industries in toomebridge will manufacture the cylinders for Let's talk Solar's solar-powered dual central heating and hot water system. The deal to work on the Fusion Elite system will run for three years.

Let's talk Solar director Michael Keane said: "We are delighted to announce this deal with Copper Industries and view it as a strategic step in the ongoing development of our business.

We intend to deploy full time personnel on the ground in Northern Ireland within months. Copper Industries managing director Charlie Shivers said: "As the fastest growing independent manufacturer of standard and bespoke thermal stores, buffer vessels and hot water cylinders in Ireland and the UK, we are confident that this venture with Let's talk Solar is an ideal fit for our business.

"By combining Copper Industries' expertise in engineering and shared commitment to environmentally-sustainable manufacturing processes with Let's talk Solar's ground-breaking technology and rapidly-growing distribution network, we look forward to developing a productive and profitable future together."

Let's talk Solar technology derives energy from daylight, rather than direct sunshine, making its products particularly well-suited to Ireland's climate.

It said the technology provides customers with affordable, year-round access to consistent central heating comfort that costs 50 to 92 per cent less than traditional heating solutions.
