Employers to take on staff

EMPLOYERS are planning to take on more permanent staff as well as temps and agency workers in the coming months, although many have questioned how quickly the economy is improving, according to new reports.

The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (Rec) said a survey of 600 employers found growing confidence in economic recovery. More than two-thirds said they will make more offers of permanent work in the next quarter, while just under half predicted they will increase their use of temporary staff and agency workers. Tom Hadley, director of policy at the Rec, said: "This month's survey shows a significant jump in the number of employers who are planning to create more permanent jobs in both the short and medium term.
