FLYBE, the biggest operator at the George Best Belfast City Airport, has increased its services to East Midlands Airport. It says it is replacing some of the turboprop services with a larger Embraer jet and adding a second Saturday flight, bringing the total number of return weekly flights to 19. The aircraft changes, which incorporates a 118-seat Embraer 195 aircraft to and from Northern Ireland, have also increased passenger capacity on Flybe's services from East Midlands to Edinburgh and Glasgow. As a result of the changes, there are now an extra 7,000 seats across the three routes up until the end of March. Flybe operates 506 flights a week to and from Belfast City on 13 routes.
