US delegation in north to explore collaborations

An American delegation was in Belfast yesterday to explore collaboration in future projects promoting local industry, education and tourism.

The mission by dignitaries from new Brunswick in new Jersey comes days after mayor máirtín Ó muilleoir welcomed senior leaders from Hefei in china to promote Belfast internationally, build on its civic and business links and attract inward investment.

The US officials include the mayor of new Brunswick James cahill; Francis Schott from the new Jersey restaurant Association and members of the new Brunswick Jazz Project.

They are visiting various parts of the city including the Skainos centre in east Belfast; An culturlann in the west of the city; Titanic Belfast in the Titanic Quarter; Queen's University; the University of Ulster; Linen Hall Library; the Lyric and the MAC theatres.

As well as seeing key projects of regeneration and redevelopment in the city, the delegates experienced Belfast's rich cultural offering.
