Danske and BA to sponsor conference

DANSKE Bank and British Airways have signed up as joint sponsors of the government-run Northern Ireland Investment Conference at Titanic Belfast on October 10 and 11. Organised by Invest NI on behalf of the Stormont Executive, the event aims to profile the north's growing reputation as a premier investment location to around 150 potential and existing inward investors. "The conference will provide a unique opportunity to build on the legacy of G8 and show some of the most senior decision makers from international firms what a dynamic, modern business environment Northern Ireland is," economy minister Arlene Foster said. "By showcasing that we have the skills and infrastructure which can exceed the demands of companies on a global scale, we can demonstrate that Northern Ireland is a strategic investment location of choice for international investors in key growth sectors." Gerry Mallon of Danske Bank said: "As a leading European bank, we recognise how important it is to encourage and secure investment that will grow the local economy and provide quality jobs and opportunities for local people. "This region has much to offer global investors and we are proud to work with Invest NI to support the conference and its objectives." BA's Ireland and UK regional manager Simon Daly said: "This has always been an important location for us and our global business travellers, so we are delighted to support what is a landmark event that will put Northern Ireland firmly on the worldwide investment map."
