BALLYMENA-BORN John Campbell (35) has been appointed by BBC News NI as its economics and business editor, working across its news and current affairs output on TV, radio and online.
Currently assistant editor of BBC Newsline with responsibility for producing business content, takes up the role in September and succeeds Jim Fitzpatrick, who is moving to a different role.
Campbell, who previously worked as a business reporter for The Daily Post in Liverpool, joined the BBC in 2001 as a news trainee and has worked across a wide range of output in a production capacity.
