Celebrity chefs to attend city's food and drink extravaganza

CELEBRITY chefs including James Martin and Paul Hollywood will attend the north's version of the Good Food Show in Belfast.

From October 25 to 27 the King's Hall pavilion will host the inaugural Northern Ireland Food and Drink Show, the first large-scale indoor consumer event of its kind staged in the city.

Ingredients for the three-day extravaganza include a celebrity chef theatre, an open kitchen, an area to promote artisan food producers and exhibitions and tastings by scores of northern food and drink producers.

The event has attracted sponsorship from Moy Park, Tesco, JN Wines and the Department of the Environment.

During the show the King's Hall will have high-quality products to sample and buy, artisan food to discover, the latest kitchen equipment and decor, competitions and a non-stop programme of presentations and demonstrations.

The Moy Park Celebrity Chef Theatre will be one of the main highlights.

As well as Martin and Hollywood, also signed up to appear are Rachel Allen, Neven Maguire and Nick Nairn.

"Dedicated to the enjoyment of all things epicurean, the show will offer visitors a delicious mix of great produce, celebrity guests and live demonstrations," show director Judith Brannigan said.

"And for businesses which sell quality food, drink and related lifestyle products to the domestic consumer - through retail, directly or online - it will provide an unrivalled opportunity to promote and sell their products to their target end user."
