Paraplegic dance classes for children and adults in Belfast

A 10-week paraplegic dance programme is starting in Belfast in September.

Disability Sport NI and the Academy of Professional Physical Arts (APPA–NI) have created a programme for children from the age of four through to adulthood.

Sarah Durrant from APPA-NI said the organisaton is committed to supporting students with disabilities and hopes to expand the programme.

Odhrán Doherty, Active Clubs Co-Ordinator for Physical Disability at Disability Sport NI said the active clubs "provide opportunities for people with physical disabilities to enjoy and excel in sustainable regular sport and physical activity opportunities".

The classes will be held at APPA-NI, 7 Prince Regent Road, Belfast, BT5 6QR.

Class timetable:

4-11 year olds

  • Class starts Monday September 11 and runs 4-5pm

11+

  • Class starts Saturday September 16 and runs 4.30-5.30pm

Adults

  • Class starts Monday September 11 and runs 12-1pm
