Comedy gold: Bill Burr for The Ulster Hall, August 1

US comedian Bill Burr is headed for Ireland

THIS summer's US comedy invasion just keeps intensifying: stand-up, actor and podcaster extraordinaire Bill Burr is the latest funny person with a funny accent to head in our direction.

The foul-mouthed Conan and Jimmy Fallon regular (who also starred on Breaking Bad as one half of Saul's Goodman's 'A-Team') from Boston has two shows at the Dublin Comedy Festival coming up on July 31, after which he'll be visiting Belfast and Galway (August 2).

"I was born a freckled child in a land far away during a much simpler time," writes Burr on his website.

"I did well in school until it counted. As a freshman in high school I had dreams of becoming a lawyer. By the time I was sophomore, I was taking shop class and considering getting into construction.

"I am now a stand up comedian. I do a couple hundred shows a year and have done four hour-long stand-up specials: Why Do I Do This, Let It Go, You People Are All The Same and I'm Sorry You Feel That Way."

"I host a podcast each week called The Monday Morning Podcast. I have an animated series on Netflix called ‘F' Is For Family.

"Occasionally, I act in movies – but only when they let me."

Now you know, so hit up You Tube for a wealth of comedy clips to find out if Bill is 'your guy'.
