ED Sheeran will perform in Belfast next year as part of a wider tour of Britain and Ireland.

The 26-year-old singer, fresh from a triumphant headlining slot at Glastonbury, will perform at Boucher Road Playing Fields on May 9.

Other Irish dates announced are Cork, Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Friday 4 and Saturday May 5, Galway, Pearse Stadium on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 May 2018, and Dublin, Phoenix Park on Wednesday 16 and Friday 18 May 2018.

Released in March this year, Ed’s third studio album ÷ (pronounced “Divide”) has sold over eight million copies globally in the space of three months. The album is currently seven times platinum in Ireland.

Tickets go on sale on Saturday July 8 at 9.00am.
