THOM Yorke and co announced an Irish date for 2017 earlier this week: their show at the 3Arena goes on sale at 9am today and will surely be already sold out by the time most of you are reading this.

Radiohead’s ninth album A Moon Shaped Pool topped the charts earlier this year and next year's tour dates include headline slots at major music festivals including Glastonbury, where they last led the bill in 2003.

The Oxford experimentalists are waging war on ticket touts by imposing some strict rules on all sales for the forthcoming dates, which are limited to four tickets per customer.

All tickets will have the name of the 'lead attendee' printed on them, who will have to produce photo ID in order to gain entry to the gig for themselves and the other ticket-holders in the group – who must arrive with them or risk non-admittance.

Up with this sort of thing.

:: Tickets priced from €61.45 are available via Ticketmaster outlets.
