ROBBIE Williams promises Ireland an evening of heavy entertainment when he plays Dublin’s Aviva Stadium next summer.

Speaking at a press conference at Dublin’s InterContinental Hotel the former Take That singer announced details of his Heavy Entertainment Stadium Tour 2017.

Dressed in a spotty shirt and trademark spiky hair, the 43-year-old who last performed in Belfast in June 2014 and Dublin’s Croke Park in 2006, promises a big budget show.

“People seem to have taken me to heart more than most,” he said about his Irish fans.

Whilst his controversial comeback single Party Like a Russian hit the headlines for causing offence and failed to reach the UK Top 40, his new album, The Heavy Entertainment Show, is expected to top the charts when it is released next Friday.

“It’s three years in the making and I’ve put my all into it,” he said about his 11th solo album, inspired by the light entertainment shows he used to watch as a child.

“I want to be this generations Dusty Bin,” he laughed, referring to the cult show 3,2,1.

Williams confirmed he will not be joining Take That on their latest tour. “Right now I’m busy with my solo work," he said not ruling out a reunion in the future.

The Let Me Entertain You singer also spoke about how being a dad of two has changed him as a singer and person.

“My life has changed in so many ways there is a purpose and reason for my life. Now I’m a working dad and it all makes sense.”

Tickets go on general sale on November 11 via RobbieWilliams.com. Fans are encouraged to pre-order The Heavy Entertainment Show album through Amazon.co.uk now to access the exclusive pre-sale for tickets.
