IT CANNOT have escaped your attention that Belfast's annual Culture Night is returning this evening, bringing with it a smorgasbord of on and off street entertainment to enliven the dead zone that is our post-5pm city centre.

Once you've had your fill of juggling, clowning, interpretive mime and glorious free curry, beat thy feet round to Voodoo in Fountain Street for the esteemed venue's Apres Culture 'afterparty' event.

Hosted by the folks at Sunglasses After Dark, this brings live music from Belfast indie kids Sea Pinks and Philly Quinn out of Girls Names' experimental solo project, Gross Net.

Punters can also dance the night away before, between and after the bands courtesy of top pre-recorded selections curated by SAD man Ryan Fitzsimmons (who will also be projecting "B Movie trash imagery" on to the very walls by way of visual stimulation) and his regular Friday night DJ foil, Darren 'Strange Victory' Smyth.

They'll be happy to take your requests – what they'll do with them is another matter entirely.
