THE godfather of hip-hop returns to Belfast tomorrow night for body-moving display of his legendary DJ skills.

Furious Five founder Flash has recently been working on Baz Luhrmann's new Netflix series The Get Down, a reality-based drama set amid New York's eclectic music scene of the 1970s which will highlight the Barbados-born South Bronx man's role in pioneering the signature cut 'n' scratch sound of early rap and hip-hop.

Viewers will see how DJ staples like backspins, punch phrasing/'clock theory' and the magic 'cue' button were all perfected in his teenage bedroom – and party people in Belfast can get down for real tomorrow night as Flash demonstrates why he's still got the skills to pay the bills in his fourth decade of adventure on the wheels of steel.
