Sky's the limit for Rathlin showcase event
TAKING place on Rathlin Island and in Ballycastle on June 22, one-day showcase event Distant Sky promises to profile "music, the spoken word and the shared experience".
Upon arrival at 11am, guests will enjoy an intimate performance by folk musician Eilidh Patterson in St Thomas’ Parish Church, followed by music from Rathlin Island's choir.
Next up, there will be lunch and whiskey sampling at McCuaig’s bar, followed by the launch of Tour Alaska, the solo debut from former A Plastic Rose frontman Gerry Norman. Featuring Jordan Farndell on violin, the record finds Sligo-born Norman moving in a new direction.
After this, it's all aboard the last boat back to Ballycastle for more music in the Anzac Bar with a soon-to-be-announced live band, followed by a DJ set from BBC presenter and event organiser Joe Lindsay.
Ticket price includes return tickets on the ferry, entry to all events on the day, lunch and whiskey tasting. Early-bird tickets now available at Distantskyrathlin.eventbrite.co.uk
