The 39 Steps returns for more madcap spy capers at Lyric

The Lyric Theatre and Bruiser Theatre Company are reviving their production of Alfred Hitchcock’s classic spy thriller The 39 Steps.

THE Lyric Theatre and Bruiser Theatre Company are reviving their 2016 sell-out production of Alfred Hitchcock’s classic spy thriller The 39 Steps.

Running at the Lyric between March 2 and 31, this fast-paced, action packed co-production is directed by Lisa May and features actors Hannah Brackstone-Brown, Michael Condron, Michael Johnston and Benjamin Stratton playing no fewer than 139 roles between them as they bring Hitchcock's 1935 adventure film to life on the stage.

The 39 Steps follows the adventures of dashing hero Richard Hannay as he grapples with murderers, double-crossing secret agents and devastatingly beautiful women while narrowly escaping a succession of hair-raising escapades.

The stage version includes iconic set pieces from Hitchcock's film including the train top chase, the Forth Bridge escape and Mr Memory at the Palladium.

"The 39 Steps is a madcap, hilarious 1930s spy caper, and the perfect co-production for the Lyric and Bruiser," says Lyric executive director Jimmy Fay.

"It has been one of our most successful shows and we are delighted to bring it back for audiences in Northern Ireland to enjoy."

:: Performances run from March 2 until 31, with preview performances from March 2 to 5 at 7.45pm (Tuesday to Saturday) and 2.30pm (Sunday matinee). Tickets from £15.00 - £24.50 available now at Lyrictheatre.co.uk or by phone on 028 9038 1081
