'Taps oan' for: Biffy Clyro unplugged in Dublin and Belfast

Biffy Clyro's MTV Unplugged tour will kick of in Ireland this September

SCOTS alt-rockers Biffy Clyro will be returning to Ireland this September with a rather different show than fans are used to.

Rather than the 'taps aff' rocking they usually peddle, Biffy's latest tour will find the trio switching off their amps in favour of an all-acoustic set inspired by their recent but yet to be broadcast MTV Unplugged performance recorded at London's Roundhouse.

The inspiringly titled MTV Unplugged Tour will kick off in Ireland with dates at Dublin's Helix on Saturday September 15 and The Waterfront Hall in Belfast on Sunday September 16, before concluding at the Royal Albert Hall in London on September 24

As an appetiser, the Kilmarnock band's MTV show will premiere on May 25, the very same day the acoustic set – which includes their version of Beach Boys classic God Only Knows and a brand new song, Different Kind of Love – will be immortalised on CD, vinyl and download.

:: Tickets for Belfast and Dublin will go on sale Friday May 11 at 9am via Ticketmaster outlets.
