THIS year's Ards Guitar Festival will run from April 11 to 15, bringing international and local musical talents to various venues around Newtownards.

Highlights of the 2018 event will include Australian-born classical guitarist Craig Ogden, who has performed with leading orchestras including the Philharmonia, London Philharmonic and Manchester Camerata, and acoustic guitar legend Martin Simpson, who has been nominated an astonishing 31 times for the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.

Martin will be supported by contemporary percussive/fingerstyle guitarists Clive Carroll and John Tracey, while Austrian percussive fingerstyle maestro Thomas Leeb will also be at this year's festival, supported by Gary Lutton and Tommy Loose.

The Classic and Contemporary event will feature Bavarian-born, LA-based classical guitarist Daniel Marx making his northern debut, supported by contemporary local guitarist Matthew Malcolm in a special concert at Kiltonga Hall.

Elsewhere in the programme is a show by Irish favourites The 4 of Us and Ralph McLean's Classic Album Brunch event Us and Them: Dark Side of the Moon 45th Anniversary, which will examine Pink Floyd's seminal LP.
