THE voices of 300 children from Belfast will join together with the Ulster Orchestra tomorrow evening for a concert that combines shadow puppetry with a child's fascination about the world around them.

The Ulster Hall production tells the story of a little boy, Jake, who is fascinated by all things scientific. When one day, after being blamed for breaking his mum’s vase, he comes to the conclusion that gravity is not his friend anymore, he builds himself a switch so he can turn gravity off.

Combining music, song, narration and animation, Rain Falling Up is produced by Dumbworld in collaboration with the Ulster Orchestra and supported by National Lottery funding through the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.

As well as a choir of children from schools including St Kieran’s, Scoil An Droichead, Holy Rosary, Victoria Park, Currie, Donegall Road, St Teresa’s, Harding Memorial and Holy Family, there's live shadow puppet animation, created with the support of film-maker John McIlduff and composer Brian Irvine.
