Special event: Branagh in Belfast

There will be a one day mini film festival in Belfast on Tuesday January 30 to mark Kenneth Branagh being made a Freeman of the city

BELFAST City Council and Film Hub NI have devised a free one-day mini-film festival featuring some of Kenneth Branagh's key movies – including Dunkirk and his excellent 1991 directorial effort, Dead Again – to mark the occasion of the Belfast-born actor being given the freedom of the the city on Tuesday January 30.

:: 2.30pm – My Week With Marilyn (15), Naughton Studio, the Lyric Theatre

:: 3pm – Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets (PG), Spectrum Centre, 331 Shankill Road

:: 3.30pm – Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets (PG), Belfast Castle

:: 7pm – Rabbit-Proof Fence (PG), An Culturlann

:: 7pm – Cinderella (U), Belfast Castle

:: 7pm – In the Bleak Midwinter (15), Rosemary Street Church

:: 7.30pm – Dead Again (15), Carnegie/NI Foundation, 46 Oldpark Road

:: 7.30pm – Dunkirk (12A), HMS Caroline, Alexandra Dock

There will also be an additional showing of Dunkirk on January 31 aboard HMS Caroline at Alexandra Dock at 7.30pm.

Along with the pop-up festival, Into Film and Cinemagic will be coordinating a series of screenings in selected schools right across Belfast to allow children and young people to enjoy some of Sir Ken's work.
