Don't miss: Moon Duo at The Black Box, Belfast, January 27

Moon Duo play The Black Box in Belfast on Saturday January 27

US SPACE-rockers Moon Duo will help bring Belfast's Out to Lunch Festival to a close next weekend with a live show at The Black Box on Saturday January 27, featuring top-drawer support from local dronepopsters Documenta.

Currently touring their two most recent albums, Occult Architecture Vol 1 and 2, which were both released last year, this Portlandian pair – Ripley 'Wooden Shjips' Johnson on guitar and Sanae Yamada on synths – charge their hypnotic, heavily atmospheric tunes with an electronic pulse.

Apparently, the two-part epic "reflects the hidden energies of rainclouds and sunshine and the deep creep of Northwest forests along with their effect on the psyche" and was "inspired by the occult and esoteric literature of Mary Anne Atwood, Aleister Crowley, Colin Wilson, and Manly P Hall".

Fans of Neu!, Suicide, Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Warlocks, and Sonic Boom's side of Recurring – indeed, the former Spacemen 3 man produced Moon Duo's new covers single Jukebox Babe/No Fun – will be in their element.
