JAMES Cameron's superb Terminator sequel gets another home release in the wake of its recent 3D-retooling and 4K restoration for cinema audiences.

Those blessed with compatible high-end AV equipment can now enjoy Terminator 2: Judgment Day on 4k UHD Blu-ray, while those with 3D-compatible gear can experience this frankly jaw-dropping new version of T2 – which essentially puts you inside the film – in the comfort of their living room by opting for the 3D Blu-ray release.

The 3-D Blu-ray includes the standard 2D Blu-ray edition (also available as a stand-alone package), which contains the Original Theatrical Cut, the Special Edition Version and the Extended Special Edition Version of the film: the latter two are 'seamlessly branching', although sadly the extra reinstated footage has not been treated to the 4K restoration process.

In addition to a slew of Blu-ray specific extras (all of which have been previously available, including deleted scenes, a cast commentary track from the 1993 LaserDisc edition and James Cameron and co-writer William Wisher's 2003 DVD commentary) there's also a brand new documentary feature shared with the new DVD edition.

Based around exclusive new interviews with Arnold Schwarzenegger, James Cameron, Robert Patrick, Edward Furlong and many others (though not Linda Hamilton, sadly), T2: Reprogramming The Terminator is a great 55-minute retrospective on the 1991 blockbuster which helps make this latest release of Terminator 2 worth owning even if you've already got a previous edition or three in your stash.

Released on physical formats and digital download on December 4
