NORTHERN Ireland is getting a new literary event this year in the form of the NOIReland International Crime Fiction Festival.

A three-day affair taking place at the Europa Hotel in Belfast between October 27 and 29, the inaugural NOIReland will explore crime writing from across the world and the impact Ireland has had on the genre.

Their opening night event is Line of Duty: In The Spotlight, a discussion panel dedicated to the BBC's Belfast-shot (well, since series two anyway – hard lines, Birmingham) hit cop drama starring our very own Adrian Dunbar as the head of a police anti-corruption unit.

On October 27, Mr Dunbar will be joined by series runner Jed Mercurio and producer Stephen Wright to talk about working on one of the most popular crime shows in BBC history.

The festival programme also includes talks and appearances by acclaimed crime writers including Robert Crais, Benjamin Black (AKA John Banville), Claire McGowan, Adrian McKinty, Stuart Neville (AKA Haylen Beck), Graeme Macrae Burnet, Sophie Hannah, Arne Dahl and Liz Nugent.

:: Tickets for Line of Duty: In The Spotlight are priced £10, available now along with full programme details at Noireland.com
