Hilden Beer & Music Festival

THE Hilden Beer & Music Festival gets under-way today at Hilden Brewery outside Lisburn, offering three days worth of live music and craft beer-fuelled enjoyment.

However, in addition to catering for boozy big kids, the 2017 festival will be providing a range of activities for your actual children too.

On the Sunday August 27, the Kids' Zone will be hosting The Secret Door, who specialise in art and creative workshops for children. They'll be laying on face painting and helping kids to create canvas pop art, fabric wall hanging paintings and cardboard guitars, as well as running an art competition with prizes.

There will also be multi-sensory activities suitable for children with sensory processing difficulties, with The Secret Door pairing with Sensory Sensations to offer messy play trays, UV dark tents, bouncy castles and more.

These organisations facilitate babies and children on the ASD/ADHD scale, from low to high functioning.

Budding young musicians can also look forward to workshops with The Gathering Drum, and the festival has just announced that there will be a number of 'secret' gigs in the Tap Room, to be announced on its Facebook and Twitter pages.
