BUSHMILLS Irish whiskey launched its Answer the Call campaign earlier this year by promoting artists and creative types, including craft candle makers and booksellers (No Alibis Bookshop owner David Torrance) and now is focusing on two northern guitar masters. Guitar-maker George Lowden of Lowden Guitars, who has been at the forefront of his craft for 40 years, will join renowned guitar instructor Paul McMordie for the 'Whiskey and Strings’ evening event at the Sunflower Bar, Belfast, on Tuesday July 25. Paul was destined for a job in the shipyards but chose music while George has supplied instruments to Ed Sheeran, George Clapton and Gary Lightbody, among many others. If you go along you will hear about the men's love of the guitar and how their determination brought them an international, and local, following. You'll also be able to learn how to get the best out of your own guitar. Only 50 people can attend, so register now for a chance to get a ticket via the ballot at answerthecall.co.uk
