WORKS by the late Basil Blackshaw will be on display at the Ulster Museum from tomorrow as part of a new exhibition focussing on the Irish landscape.

Looking at Landscape explores how artists interpret the natural world and Co Antrim artist Blackshaw, who died last year, is often associated with the Irish landscape. Considered one of the most talented Irish artists of his era, visitors to the exhibition can see five of Blackshaw's paintings, including Dromara Landscape, 1953.

Other acclaimed local artists whose work features include Patrick Collins, Jean Duncan, Tom Carr, TP Flanagan, Colin Middleton and Tracey Quinn.

Anna Liesching of National Museums NI, says: “The motivational power of the Irish landscape has enticed artists to explore and capture this place in many ways and we hope that visitors to the Ulster Museum enjoy the rich art collection on show.”
