Last chance to see: The Stone Roses in Belfast

I'LL hold my hands up: when The Stone Roses announced their first indoor Irish gig for nearly 30 years last September, I thought it was sure to be an instant sell-out.

However, here we are a few days before the show at Belfast's SSE Arena on June 13 and there are still tickets available.

Well, so long as you don't mind sitting down anyway: the eye-wateringly priced £64 standing tickets are long-gone. With no value-adding 'special guests' announced as yet (later dates are getting the likes of Sleaford Mods, Primal Scream and Blossoms), it's now going to cost a still quite hefty £49 for the cheapest seat in the house.

Perhaps 'Roses fatigue' has set in now that the initial excitement/euphoria of the band's original reunion in 2012 has subsided somewhat.

After all, with only two albums and a handful of singles to draw from – plus newies All for One (not great) and Beautiful Thing (not bad) – their next set in Belfast probably won't be drastically different from Marlay Park last summer or even their rabidly received performances at Phoenix Park and Vital five years ago.

Sure, Ian Brown and co could always pad things out by dipping into their bag of gothy pre-fame Garage Flower-era material (Tell Me, So Young etc) – but no-one apart from me would enjoy that.

Only one thing is certain: whatever the Roses decide to play on June 13, now's your last chance to be on the receiving end of it.
