Special event: Power of Video conference in Belfast

Street artist Dean Kane created a live graffiti installation at Bullitt in Belfast inspired by the programme for this year's Power of Video conference

THE Power of Video conference returns to Belfast next week for its second annual celebration of online video content.

Guest speakers at the Belfast Cathedral-based event on Friday May 26 will include director and film-maker Philip Bloom (Lucasfilm, CNN, Sky, BBC), comedian, author and social media star Arron Crascall and Ireland's own video skit man Cian Twomey.

Zack Nelson from Jerry Rig Everything and Dan and Lincoln Markham from What's Inside will return for this year's event along with SnapChat/YouTube celeb Shonduras and fellow YouTuber Casey Neistat.

Hosted by local mentalist David Meade, POV 2107 will also include interactive exhibitions, meet-and-greets and other satellite events across Belfast, including the north's first DR1 FPV Drone Race held at T13 skatepark.

"This year's conference has been moved to a distinctly 'Belfast' landmark as we prepare to host a wide range of influential global YouTubers and video creators," says organiser Damien Gallagher.

"Last year's event really opened our eyes to the exceptional level of production talent in Northern Ireland, and we look forward to connecting these up-and-coming creators with their heroes in Belfast's Cathedral Quarter – an ever-evolving space that we believe really signifies the progressive, forward-thinking elements of our city."

POV 2017 was launched last Friday with the help of local street artist Dean 'Visual Waste' Kane (pictured), who created his own live graffiti installation inspired by this year's programme at Bullitt in Belfast, all documented via 360 degree camera.
