NOW here's a most Zarjaz event for fans of 'the galaxy's greatest comic', 2000 AD: this weekend's Enniskillen Comic Fest features an impressive roll call of 2000 AD-related guests to tie in with the venerable title's ongoing 40th anniversary celebrations.

Tharg-endorsed names in attendance will include homegrown talents like Belfast's own 'art robots' Ryan Brown and Paul Holden, Cork man Eoin Coveney and Dublin-born 'script robot' Mike Carroll, plus 'golden age' staff such as former editor Steve MacManus, writers Alan Grant and Alan Hebden and artists Ian Gibson, Cam Kennedy, Clint Langley and Glenn Fabry, plus noted 21st century 2000 AD illustrator, Ian Richardson.

Maximum thrill-power will be very much ensured by the presence of 2000 AD legends John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra, creators of the mighty Judge Dredd.

Celebrating 40 Years Of 2000 AD kicks off tonight at 7.30pm at Ardhowen Theatre, when all of the above will be quizzed within an inch of their remaining sanity about working for the iconic British comic at this ticketed event.

There will also be a couple of special 2000 AD-related events during Saturday's free main Comic Fest at Enniskillen Castle: a screening of the new Strontium Dog fan film, Search Destroy (11.30am) and the panel discussion Dredd at 40 (12.30pm) with John Wagner, Carlos Ezquerra, Alan Grant and Cam Kennedy.

Don't miss them, creeps.
