TOMORROW evening, Derry will host a free outdoor screening of Tides: A History of lives and dreams lost and found (some broken), Italian director Alessandro Negrini's award-winning film about the River Foyle.

To be shown on large screen at Ebrington Square, Tides is described by Negrini as "a dreamlike portrait of the River Foyle, narrated from the point of view of the river, in a sort of magical and surreal autobiography".

"What could it tell us? What does it know about us? Visually moving between past and present times, the River Foyle invites us to reflect on issues that are going beyond its own boundaries: What is a border? Are the dreams of those who lived before the conflict different from those dreamed today? And above all, what happened to our dreams?"

Presented by Our Future Foyle, this 'pop-up' cinema event will take place alongside other arts and performance from the likes of Echo Echo, The Verbal, The Playhouse, UV Arts, Momentum, the Pink Ladies and the Void Gallery.

Alessandro Negrini will attend the screening to introduce his film.
