VETERAN rock balladeer Chris Rea has announced a pair of Irish dates on his next European tour.
The blues-loving growly guitar botherer will release a new record in September, Road Songs for Lovers, before hitting the road for real.
The Road Songs for Lovers tour will include 11 dates in Britain and Ireland, including stops at Dublin's Olympia Theatre on December 6 and The Waterfront Hall in Belfast the following night.
Rea's forthcoming new album will be his first collection of all new material since Santo Spirito Blues in 2011. Last year, the guitar man put out a quadruple disc 'artists edition' remake of the 1996 soundtrack album for La Passione, his film project of the same name – the original release of which Rea claims was ruined by meddling record executives.
