Therapy?, Wednesday April 26, The Empire, Belfast

SEMINAL Co Antrim alt-rockers Therapy? will be playing their first ever Irish all-acoustic shows next week in Dublin, Belfast, Dundalk, Cork, Galway and Limerick.

Andy Cairns and co have dubbed their recently realised unplugged incarnation 'Wood & Wire', also the title of the limited edition album of acoustic Therapy? favourites the trio were flogging on their well received run of non-amplified gigs in Europe and London last year.

Those who doubt the power of the band's songwriting when stripped of its noisy electric guitars will be surprised by just how well sing-along Therapy? staples like Screamager, Nowhere, Loose, Die Laughing and Skyward stand up in their 'bare-bones' form.

There's plenty of good live footage of last year's dates available online, but the best way to really find out what's what is to get a ticket for one of next week's gigs.

On the basis of Therapy?'s previous performances at The Empire back in 2000 and 2012, Wednesday evening's Belfast show should be particularly special for band and audience alike, and thus is definitely not one to be missed.
