VETERAN electropop duo Pet Shop Boys have announced an Irish show for this year. Following sold-out concerts on their Super World Tour in the US, Canada, Germany, Holland and Denmark, Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe have confirmed they will visit Dublin's Bord Gais Energy Theatre for a special 'An Evening With Pet Shop Boys' gig on Tuesday September 5.

The pop conquering pair will dig deep into their big bag of hits from the 1980s, 90s and 00s as well as performing the best bits of their current album, Super, which hit number three on the chart last year.

The laser-laden audio visuals of the Super World Tour's live show was staged by long-term Pet Shop Boys designer Es Devlin and choreographer Lynne Page, with live arrangements created in collaboration with album producer Stuart Price (who also helmed 2013's well-received Electric LP).

By all accounts of last year's tour dates, Devlin helped Pet Shop Boys come up with a spectacular live experience that lived up to its 'Super' billing.

How much of that production will be included at this rather more intimate Dublin date is unclear, but Tennant and Lowe's songs are surely strong enough to withstand a reduced quantity of bells and whistles in their delivery system.

:: Tickets priced from €59.50 will go on sale today at 9am from Ticketmaster outlets.
