THE threat of deportation for a young woman's Peruvian husband is the focus of the play Mi Mundo which will be performed at Belfast's Skainos Centre tomorrow and Friday.

Mi Mundo -– meaning 'my world' – tells the true story of Lisa, a woman who takes on the British government to fight deportation and to keep husband Joaquin and their two children together in the north.

Written by Andrea Montgomery and directed by Belfast man Tom Finlay, the play shows how the couple fell in love and married in Lima, only to return to Northern Ireland for the birth of their second child where they are confronted by the UK's new immigration laws.

Nuala McKeever narrates the immersive theatrical production from Terra Nova productions. Mi Mundo will also be at Clotsworthy Arts Centre, Antrim, March 6-7 and Island Arts Centre, Lisburn, March 10.
