Quartetto di Cremona for Portaferry concert

The Italian Quartetto di Cremona will perform a programme of Beethoven, Puccini and Mozart at The Portico of Ards on Saturday February 25

THE Portico of Ards in Portaferry will be hosting a show by the internationally acclaimed Cremona Quartet this weekend as part of a Moving On Music tour supported by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland's NI Music Touring Programme.

The Italian Quartetto di Cremona will perform a programme of Beethoven, Puccini and Mozart on Saturday February 25 at 7.30pm.

The quartet's list of accolades includes winning international competitions such as Vittorio Veneto Competition, Cremona International Competition and Web Concert Hall Competition and a Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship, and have released several recordings on the Audite label to critical acclaim.

Ciaran Scullion, Head of Music, Arts Council of Northern Ireland, commented: "The Arts Council is committed to bringing great art to everyone and this tour from Moving On Music will give music lovers from across the region the valuable opportunity to see this impressive act on their doorstep."

The quartet’s programme in Portaferry is Mozart's String Quartet No.16 K428; Puccini's Crisantemi;  and Beethoven's String Quartet Op 59/2.
