THIS free one-day music conference and showcase event returns next week to bring a load guest speakers and live gigs to Belfast city centre.

Output's daytime conference takes place between 10am and 5pm in its regular home at The MAC: music industry commentator Bob Letsetz of the long-running Lefsetz Letter newsletter service (Lefsetz.com) is this year's closing keynote speaker.

Throughout the day you can catch talks featuring Amy Lamé, London's first ever 'Night Czar' employed by mayor Sadiq Khan to "work to champion the capital's vibrant night-time economy", BBC radio rock jock Daniel P Carter, songwriter and BASCA chairman Crispin 'Longpigs' Hunt, PJ Harvey producer Rob Ellis, PledgeMusic founder and Blockchain man Benji Rogers, Major Lazer graphic designer Ferry Gouw, Adam out of Babyshambles and others, plus masterclasses and seminars by a variety of music industry heads.

From 5pm, Output spreads its wings into nearby venues for a series of free local music orientated showcase gigs sponsored by various entities.

Highlights include Junk Drawer, Hive Ova, R51 and Making Monsters at Voodoo, a pair of showcase shows at the Duke of York featuring Robyn G Shiels, Gross Net, Robocobra Quartet and Autumns (upstairs) and Malojian, Brand New Friend, Brash Isaac and Silences (downstairs), Touts, Woodburning Savages, Scenery and Roe at 39 Gordon Street and Hot Cops, Michael Mormecha, Sister Ghost and Bad Fit at Oh Yeah.
