DIVISIVE comedian/actor/activist Russell Brand is bringing his new stand-up tour to Ireland this May and September.

Following a series of sold-out preview shows in November and December last year, the Re:Birth tour kicks off in April and will arrive in Ireland on May 23 at The Olympia in Dublin before travelling on to The Waterfront in Belfast on May 26.

It finds the Essex-born comic and father to three-month-old Mabel asking big questions such as 'what is real?', 'who are we?' and 'where did this baby come from?' as he grapples with the matrix of modern media, politics, sex, fatherhood and death.

"How do we make sense of the madness of our lives once we become parents?", says Brand of his Re:Birth set.

"What am I going to tell my daughter about conformity and responsibility? What happens if she grows up to be like me or – worse – date someone like me?"

The comedian will also play three Irish dates in September at Cork Opera House (25), Galway Leisureland (26) and Limerick UCH (27).
