1. When did you think about music/comedy as a career and what were your first steps into it?

I spent most of my time teaching others how to do both until half way through my master's in Drama and Performance at Queen's University when I had to do it out of necessity. It sort of went from there.

2. Best gigs you’ve been to?

Beverley Knight in the Albert Hall, American songstress Bette Midler and anything in the Outburst Queer Arts Festival in Belfast.

3. Fantasy wedding/birthday party band?

Gladys Knight, Patti Labelle and Dionne Warwick would make a great party.

4. The record you’d take to a desert island?

Tres Deseos by Gloria Estefan.

5. And the book?

The Color Purple by Alice Walker.

6. Top three films?

The Prince of Egypt, Paris is Burning and Aliens.

7. Worst film you’ve seen?

Pretty Woman – but I still watch it.

8. Favourite authors?

Nigerian novelist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, JK Rowling and Oscar Wilde.

9. Sport you most enjoy and top team?

Tennis. Serena Williams represents the very zenith of human achievement.

10. Ideal holiday destination?

New York in the 1970s – the craic would be mighty.

11. Pet hate?

Wilful ignorance.

12. What’s your favourite:

Dinner? Anything with cheese.

Dessert? A cheese board.

Drink? Yellow Spot whiskey.

13. Who is your best friend and how do you know each other?

I'd say my old mates Helen and Lyndsay. We've known each other over 20 years. We don't get to see each other much but as soon as we do we're like weeans again.

14. Is there a God?

I flip-flop on this regularly. If there is it can't be some old white man with a beard sitting on a cloud demanding to have attention paid to him.
