1. When did you think about comedy as a career and what were your first steps into it?

I never thought of comedy as a career but I have tiptoed into it through comedy improvisation classes at the Crescent Arts Centre in Belfast.

2. Best gigs you've been to?

Tori Amos, Flight of the Conchords and U2 at Botanic Park, Belfast in 1997.

3. Fantasy wedding/birthday party band?

Aretha Franklin.

4. The record you'd take to a desert island?

This is too hard. If forced to choose I would take Barton Hollow by The Civil Wars and Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No 2.

5. And the book?

Tina Fey’s autobiography Bossy Pants.

6. Top three films?

Heat, This is Spinal Tap and The Three Amigos.

7. Worst film you've seen?

The 2010 romantic comedy Valentine’s Day starring Jessica Alba and Jamie Foxx. It’s the only time in my life I have left the cinema before the end of a film. I felt like a hero and then realised no one neither noticed nor cared that I was leaving.

8. Favourite authors?

David Kellerman, Roald Dahl and Jojo Moyes.

9. Sports you most enjoy and top team?

Sports I 'enjoy' are those I can watch whilst eating and/or drinking. If it's on in the pub with a barbecue, drinks promotions and I can get a seat then I’m on board.

10. Ideal holiday destination?

Donegal or San Francisco – depending on my budget.

11. Pet hate?

Being talked over.

12. What's your favourite:

Dinner? Gin.

Dessert? Tonic.

Drink? Gin and Tonic.

13. Who is your best friend and how do you know each other?

I have two. Nuala Livingstone; we met across a living room when she was brought home from the maternity ward. Frazer Robb; we met through comedy improvisation classes and I haven’t been able to shake him off since.

14. Is there a God?
