FANS of the Coen brothers' cult classic The Big Lebowski are in for a treat tonight as the Foyle Film Festival presents a special evening dedicated to everything that is 'The Dude'.

Tonight at Brunswick Moviebowl in Derry, the 'Dudeness' will commence with a screening of the surreal 1998 comedy drama starring Jeff Bridges as Jeff 'The Dude' Lebowski at 8pm, followed by a quick-fire bowling competition and trivia quiz.

There will be a prize for the best Dude costume and special promotions on his favourite beverage, the White Russian.

Since its release, The Big Lebowski has become something of a sacred cinematic text to slackers and stoners everywhere.

The film follows The Dude and his buddies (priceless turns by John Goodman and Steve Buscemi) on a warped journey that mixes kidnapping, mistaken identity and bowling with many, many White Russians.

If that's whetted your appetite for cult classic cinema, do not miss the Foyle Film Festival's rare double-bill screening of George Miller's iconic post-apocalyptic brace, Mad Max and Mad Max 2 on Saturday July 2 at Brunswick Moviebowl.

Tickets for all screenings are now available from Brunswickmoviebowl.com.

Everyone who pre-books a ticket has the chance to win a trip for two to The Big Lebowski Bar in Reykjavik, Iceland. Enter via Facebook.com/Foylefilmfest.
