THE annual Music City festival returns to Derry next month, bringing hundreds of musical performances to various venues and public spaces across the city.
This year's headliners include a homecoming gig for Choice Music Prize winner Soak, Co Cavan retro-rockers The Strypes, Belfast indie gloomsters Girls Names and a Derry debut for much hyped duo Saint Sister.
Other homegrown talents taking part in 2016's seven-day-long event are David Kitt, Malojian and Derry's own Best Boy Grip, Our Krypton Son, The Clameens, Paddy Nash & The Happy Enchiladas, Strength and Triggerman.
Internationally renowned pianist Ruth McGinley, who has just released her latest album Reconnection, will perform a special concert during the festival, while Music City regular, saxophonist Gerard McChrystal, returns to for a series of appearances in community and city centre settings.
