BRONAGH Gallagher returns to the Millennium Forum tomorrow night for a special hometown album launch show to celebrate the release of her third LP Gather Your Greatness.

Out now on Gallagher's own Salty Dog label, the latest record by The Commitments actress and soul enthusiast is her most ambitious to date in terms of its deft soul pop arrangements, lush strings and horns augmented production and moving lyrical content, which finds the Derry singer tapping into affairs of the heart with newfound fearlessness.

Recent single Crimes is a stand-out moment: Gallagher's reliably powerful voice has never sounded better as she leans into a song of defiance directed at a lover who's been messing her around – he'd best keep a low profile around Derry if he wants to remain unscathed by her protective fans.

Elsewhere, the funky Radio finds the singer asking the question we've all wanted to know the answer to – why do DJs insist on playing absolute guff when there are so many good songs out there? – while the deceptively gentle ballad Stranger has Gallagher lamenting a lost love in a memorably haunting manner.

You can hear the Derry star and her musical sidemen/women reproducing the highlights of Gather Your Greatness tomorrow night, along with favourites from her first two albums, in a show that promises great tunes and even better craic.
